FACS: A Method for Cell Characterization and Sorting
Description
The FACS (Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorting) method enables the automatic characterization and sorting of thousands of cells per second based on their size, complexity, and unique fluorescent properties. The process is carried out using a laser beam that identifies specific markers on the cells, alongside an electrostatic system that directs each cell into the appropriate test tube using an electrical charge.
